There are several coordination tools available on the market today. Which one you choose depends on several factors. To choose the right app, first, you should ask yourself 3 questions:

• Are the models/documentation created in one or more programs?
• What programs does my company use for coordination at the moment?
• Do we have already a license for any coordination software?

We distinguish 3 groups of programs allowing us to run model coordination:

1. Design authoring programs (modeling programs)

If you use one tool for modeling multiple disciplines, it may be an option for you. For example, Autodesk Revit gives you the ability to check collisions using Interface Check in the Collaborate tab.

When it comes to data coordination, and checking if all the parameters in your Revit models are set up correctly, you can use a free Revit plugin called: Autodesk Interoperability Tools.

It is a collection of a few tools that help BIM Coordinators manage and quality check Revit data.
