Remember when we discussed the six steps of clash detection in the theoretical part?
To refresh your memory, here’s the diagram that outlines them:
I’ve highlighted the step where we need to create checking rules.
Since this guide covers two different coordination programs, we now need to make a distinction between how they handle this step.
From this point on, we’ll see some differences because Navisworks and Solibri work in different ways when it comes to clash detection:
Because of this, I’ll first explain what rules are in Solibri, how they work, and why they are used.
Then, in the next section, we’ll move on to Navisworks, where I’ll show you how to replicate the rule-based checking approach from Solibri using Search Sets.
